hello

I always think summertime is the loveliest time. This is a fragment (of course) that I'm still trying to figure what I'll do with.

We sat outside, watching the sun set on the city windows. Julie smoked a cigarette as I kicked the broken post on the little balcony. Down below, Josh blurred by on his skateboard.

“I like him,” I said to Julie.

She grinned, “Me too.”

Inhale.

Her cigarette’s finished and we head back inside. Josh is finished skating as well. The three of us walk back into their room and they start sketching again. Josh works by the window; his head and shoulders hunched over his page, I can’t see what he’s working on. Julie’s fixing a unicorn painting with water colors and glitter. I pick up a paint brush and add the lost glitter to my hair.

Soon I’m nothing but sparkles.
